"Every student should have Arleen - or Mr. Rogers - in their life."- Jordan, piano student
"I feel so lucky to have found Arleen. She brings so much knowledge, energy and passion to her lessons. My kids love working with her. She makes music fun and it is so obvious that she cares deeply! No matter your age or ability, Arleen is able to meet you where you're at, bringing joy and personal growth. I give her all stars! :)" - Frances Saadeh
"Arleen is so much more than a piano teacher. My daughter's lessons with her are adventures into a magical land where Arleen cultivates creativity and a sense of wonder. From endless musical tea parties to experimentations with a seemingly endless collection of instruments and impromptu games, Arleen's ability to adjust her teaching in response to students' individual personalities, needs, or just their headspace on a particular day, is unmatched. I cannot recommend her highly enough". - Beccy Siddons

virtual teaching, 2020 - and beyond
When spring of 2020 rolled around, everyone's world changed. Teachers created amazing ways to connect to their students. Happily, many of those methods and technologies have stayed with us, and opportunities now abound.
Experience and education:
Arleen is a pianist, accessibility music specialist, and arts entrepreneur. She has worked with a wide range of children and adults, integrating music into their lives, in their way. For over 3 decades, her teaching experience and non-traditional education has enabled her to carve out a unique niche that combines teaching, creativity, improvisation, life skills, and therapeutic modalities. Arleen was the founder of "Kids in Harmony" - a music, art, and nature camp on her family's 1770 farm; co-founder of "The Purple Piano", a music, art, and wellness center; and "The Grand Piano" - a music school with nearly 400 students. She provided therapeutic and educational music at Bradley Hospital / Bradley School for 20 years and Meeting Street (both in Rhode Island), as well as many other schools and facilities throughout her career.
She presently is a consultant and instructor at the Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education as well as Head Theater Instructor for BIAESN’s theater program, Daytime Moon Creations. She is a faculty of CT State Community College and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School. Arleen continues to maintain her private practice.
